I partner with schools, districts, and education-based nonprofits serving historically and systemically marginalized communities to create the conditions where every child can fully realize their brilliance, power and potential, and where the educators and leaders entrusted with that work are nourished and sustained along the way.

We partner with educators, leaders, school systems, and education-organizations serving in historically and systemically marginalized communities to reimagine education, reclaim our collective power, and realign our practices
with what our students truly need and deserve.

Liberatory, healing-centered classrooms where student identity is honored,
brilliance is ignited, and every childregardless of background or ZIP code
has the support and freedom to realize their full promise and potential.

We believe classrooms can be powerful sites of healing and liberation
and that what we do pedagogically can change lives and transform the world.

Liberatory, Healing-Centered Education:
A Primer

Half-Day Learning Experience to Catalyze the Work

We’ll help you find the right fit.

Let's talk.

not sure where to start?

-Senior Leader, Education Nonprofit (NYC & Westchester)

“Bárbara’s deep content knowledge around CR-SE was evident on first meeting her, as was her experience in teaching, training, and designing related to this area. She demonstrated a clear commitment to and passion for the work from the outset, and was able to speak clearly and thoughtfully to how she might design and approach a complex, nuanced project.

Bárbara is a true expert in her field, but brings the humility and humanity of a lifelong learner to her work and collaboration, with listening and responsiveness at the center of her work. Her combination of skill sets is unique- she is adept at content design, PD facilitation, and sophisticated collaboration in a way that is hard to find. She models the responsiveness she teaches, and this was noted by our staff.”

What Clients are saying

"Bárbara is authentic, intentional, and experienced. She brings her whole self to the work and creates the conditions for others to do the same. She designs PD experiences that take into consideration where all participants may be entering. The session she designed and facilitated at our winter retreat last fiscal year continues to be one people talk about as a highlight of their year and PD. A teammate shared feeling seen in a session for the first time... maybe ever. Bárbara DID THAT.
She creates environments where all people thrive."

-National Director of Program Design & Inclusive Learning (Education Nonprofit)

"I want to thank Bárbara for her amazing training! Excellent planning and facilitation -- engaging, interactive, thoughtful, challenging, relevant. The sessions were focused and built on one another. The opportunities for pair and small group collaboration and the choice time gave me agency over my learning!"

-Leadership & Instructional Coach, NYC Public Schools

“Bárbara has such deep love for our students. Her passion AND expertise for supporting Linguistically Diverse students and Culturally Relevant Pedagogy is so compelling, and brings people into her mission/vision. Her experience as a 20+ year educator is just so present in everything she does. It's clear from her design to facilitation that she is working towards liberation for and with our students and it's an inspiration and guiding light for me as a peer.”

"Bárbara made me feel seen, heard and validated. She made me feel proud of myself and to believe in myself again.

Bárbara supported me to rethink and articulate my vision of what teaching should look like and of what liberation through education means to me.  This was truly a revelation for me as an education-leader because it was a stepping stone in aligning who I am and the justice I want to achieve."

-Executive Director, National Organization for Immigrant-Inclusive Education

-Education-Leader,  South Carolina Public Schools

“Anytime I see Bárbara facilitate I am in awe of her. Her authenticity, passion and knowledge are a gift to our team. She elevates the rest of us just through her leadership.
Thank you for all you give and bring to this work.”

A proud daughter of immigrants and a product of the Bronx’s most under-resourced school districts, Bárbara experienced first-hand the beautiful resilience of her community alongside the profound challenges and deep inequities children and families from systemically and historically marginalized communities face.

Her lived experiences coupled with her 20+ year career in education have fueled her passion and commitment for creating meaningful change in the lives of children from communities just like hers.

Bárbara deeply believes that we can change the world through what we do pedagogically. Her mission is to help transform classrooms into conduits for liberation and healing for all.
